Rules & Policies

Please see our policies below, and click here to review our liability waiver (e-signatures are collected through a link you'll see when you go to schedule an online reservation

1.) Little Lane Playroom is a shoe free facility

Absolutely no shoes in the play area. Non-slip grip socks must be worn at all times for children and adults must also be wearing socks. The only exception to this rule is for crawlers under 6 months who are only playing in the infant area. There is a shoe rack and area to place small personal belongings at the front of the playroom.

2.) No strollers, bags, backpacks, or any other personal belongings are allowed into the play area

Unfortunately we do not have the space for stroller parking or large diaper bags. However, we are just a short walk from the closest parking lot located outside of JC Penny (the side of JC Penny where you can also see Target). Strollers, shoes, bags, backpacks, outside toys/books/coloring supplies, or any other personal belongings are strictly prohibited from entering the play area. We have extremely limited stroller parking for 2-3 strollers just outside the playroom's entrance. If your child can walk, please leave your stroller in the car so we can reserve these spots for those with babies.

We do not allow any personal items brought into the play area other than the caregiver's cell phone and a single binky if your child still uses one (and for younger kids wearing a bib is also fine). There is a small area at the front of the playroom where you can place your shoes and small personal belongings.

Little Lane Playroom is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.

3.) No food or beverages in the space

Absolutely no food or beverages are permitted inside Little Lane Playroom, with exception of bottled water (we also allow caregivers to feed bottled milk to their infants - however, please bring a large burp cloth to protect milk from getting on the furniture). Guests are welcome to exit the playroom to go use the restroom or grab pretzel's next door at the Wetzel's Pretzels or the food court during their 60-minute play session and can be re-admitted into the playroom as long as it's still within the designated play session time period. Just note that food and beverages other than bottled water (or bottled milk for infants) are NOT allowed inside Little Lane Playroom. You will find a set of picnic benches close-by for those who may want to visit Wetzel's Pretzels before or after their visit. Note that we do not sell food/beverages, nor do we allow it inside the playroom.

4.) No birthday parties or private events

Birthday parties or similar private gatherings are strictly prohibited at Little Lane Playroom. Little Lane Playroom does not offer birthday parties at this time, however we do offer private rentals of the space for private play dates (private rentals must be booked in advance and are only offered during designated times). Please text or call Monica at 619-888-0535 or email littlelaneplayroom@gmail.com if interested in learning more about hosting a private play date at Little Lane Playroom.

. Any attempt to host a birthday party, baby shower, or similar gathering during a regular play session will result in immediate removal from the premises without a refund. Balloons, confetti, outside decorations, gifts, food/beverages of any kind, are all strictly prohibited inside Little Lane Playroom.

5.) No restrooms or diaper changes inside of Little Lane Playroom

Should you or your child need to use the restroom or require a diaper change, you will need to exit the playroom and visit the mall’s closest public restroom.

Please note we do not have a restroom for guests to use and we do not allow diaper changes inside Little Lane Playroom. The closest restroom will be the mall's public restroom with a family / nursing area right down the escalator to the right of JC Penny. The North County Mall also has public restrooms located by the Food Court. There are also restrooms inside of JC Penny and Target, both of which are located a short walk from Little Lane Playroom.

6.) Supervise your child(ren) at all times

Adult supervision is required at all times while visiting Little Lane Playroom. By entering the playroom, you agree to provide responsible and constant supervision of your child(ren) to ensure the safety of all visitors. Little Lane Playroom does not provide any babysitting or child care services. Open play sessions do not include any additional entertainment beyond what you'll find inside the playroom (although, occasionally the owner Ms. Monica will surprise groups with a complimentary story time or other engaging activity).

7.) Please respect the age-requirements for the age based and open play sessions

We ask that the playroom is used only by individuals within the specified age limits.

For open play sessions, these sessions are designed for ages 3 months-6 years old (at this time babies under 3 months old are only permitted when worn in a baby carrier & are accompanied by an older sibling who has paid for admission).

For age-based playdates, these play sessions are designated for specific age ranges. We ask that you do not make a reservation for one of these play sessions unless all of the children under your reservation fall within the designated age range for that particular play session.

8.) Nursing moms are welcome

While we unfortunately did not have the space to create a designated private nursing area, nursing mothers are always welcome at Little Lane Playroom if they feel comfortable nursing in public. We just kindly ask that you please use some sort of cover or larger burb cloth to protect any breast milk from getting on the furniture. For those who need to pump or who want a private space to nurse, there is also a nursing room located in the mall's family area by the public restrooms. You'll get there by exiting the playroom, taking a right and going down the closest escalators (a short walk from the playroom) and you'll see a sign for the family area and public restrooms to the right of JC Penny.

9.) No taking photos/videos of other guests or staff without their permission

Please ensure that any photographs/videography taken within the playroom does not show the faces of other guests or staff without their permission. At Little Lane Playroom,   privacy is a top priority and we too will never take or share photos or videos showing you or children's faces without your permission. However, please note that we do have 24/7 surveillance cameras inside the playroom for security and liability reasons.

10.) No running, yelling, hitting, kicking, or rough play

We understand that toddlers will be toddlers and meltdowns are inevitable at times, but please do your best to ensure that your children are being respectful to other guests and that you curb any inappropriate behavior. We reserve the right to ask any disorderly guests to leave without refund or credits.

11.) All play sessions are final sale

All play session reservations are final sale and non-refundable. You may reschedule to a different day/time as long as you do so at least 4 hours prior to your play session (via the rescheduling link at the bottom of your confirmation email), otherwise there will be no refunds or credits issued. We are unable to make any exceptions to this policy and will not be liable should you miss some or all of the play session due to your or your children(s) illness, forgetfulness, getting the date/time mixed up, or any other circumstances. Refunds are only offered in the event of a cancellation or closure of the play session or playroom.

The number of guests on the reservation must match the number of guests you check-in with. You may not swap out guests at any point throughout the 60-minute play session. The people you included on your reservation and that you check-in with are the only individuals permitted inside Little Lane Playroom during the play session.
